When starting a company there’s a lot of jargon that you’ll need to get your head around. We’re often asked what the difference between registering a company and forming one is. The simple answer is there is no difference. Once you have registered your company with Companies House it is, essentially, formed!
What happens when you register/form your company
When you’ve registered your company with Companies House, your company will appear on the UK register of companies. This will give it greater credibility and protect your business name from being duplicated as the name you have chosen or a name very similar won’t be allowed to be registered. Once you’ve registered your company, your liability will be limited which means that your company is a separate legal entity from you.
To further protect your company more than just its name, you should consider a trademark, click here to find out more and even book a free all with a trade mark attorney to discuss what will give your company the best protection!
